Biography

Omnia El Omrani, is a 24-year old final year medical student at Ain Shams University, working at El Demerdash Hospital in Egypt. She has been actively involved in public health and student advocacy for more than five years. She developed her expertise throughout her extensive work within the International Federation of Medical Students’ Association (IFMSA) as the Public Health Regional Assistant for the Eastern-Mediterranean Region (2017/2018) and Public Health Development Assistant (2018/2019). Currently, she is serving as the IFMSA Liaison Officer for Public Health Issues representing the voice of 1.3 million medical students worldwide from 129 countries.

Omnia advocates for meaningful youth engagement in global health with a particular focus on mental health, non-communicable diseases, and environmental health issues. She has strong interest in policy-making, diplomacy and capacity building and hence delivered more than 70 hours of trainings in 12 different countries worldwide. She aims to pursue a career in global health in parallel with her future clinical work.
